West Michigan Robotics Invitational 2012

Shout out to The Foley Freeze and Divided by Zero! You guys rock!
We made it into the elimination rounds, teaming up with The Foley Freeze and Divided by Zero for a terrific trio of robots!

Saturday, October 20, Code Red headed to the West Michigan Robotics Invitational!  The team had a lot of fun cheering, dancing and rooting on our robot. Sadly, it attempted a flip off the end of the balancing platform, but it shouldn’t be too hard to fix. It was a great last game of Rebound Rumble! Congratulations to teams 3357 The Comets, 904 D Cubed, and 85 Built on Brains! Also a special shout out to our alliance partners team 910 The Foley Freeze and team 2405 Divided By Zero! Can’t wait to see you all again next year!

Code Red’s 2011-2012 Season is done

After the World Championship at St. Louis, the official Robotic’s season for 2011-2012 is finished. However, we, Code Red, are not finished. We have a ton of fun and exciting events planned for the summer, along with the traditional Summer Camp!

The planned events and dates along with times for those events can be found here.

Other than that, have a awesome summer!

Code Red Competes at Niles

After several days of intense competition Code Red managed to pull through in 18th place at Niles, out of 41 teams! Although we didn’t make the elimination rounds Code Red still earned the Team Spirit award, for our “enthusiastic support of FIRST and gracious professionalism”.

Also, we had an FTC demonstration field set-up at the event and will also have it at the Michigan State Championship.

Code Red Competes at Grand Valley State University

On March 15 and 16, the team went to Grand Valley for our second district competition. With a new and improved robot, we did great! We even managed to balance our bot on the bridge–more than once! We were also presented the Inspiration in Engineering award for our help in starting FIRST Tech Challenge for Middle Schoolers in Michigan. We had an FTC field set up in the lobby for people to come check out, and plenty of information for kids, parents, and mentors to starts their own FTC team.

Alongside representing FTC, we had a table for donations to our friends at Lutheran Child Family Services. Thanks to all the awesome people attending the competition, we received a large amount of donations. Thank you to everyone who helped out!

Code Red Competes at Gull Lake

Gull Lake CompetitionMarch 2 and 3, Gull Lake High School hosted their first district robotic competition. They did an amazing job planning it and keeping things organized; the
volunteers and staff were so enthusiastic about their work! It was
amazing to see FIRST spreading!

For our first competition of the year, Code Red did a great job. We made friends with many of the rookie teams, and found out exactly what we need to succeed the season. We even managed to win the Team Spirit award!
