Multiple times every year, Code Red sets up displays at local STEM events where we demonstrate our robot, “play catch” with attendees, and tell community members about FIRST, STEM, and Code Red.  The events serve a variety of purposes. Some of them are connected with area FIRST events. Some of them are intended to encourage diversity in STEM, some are intended to encourage college readiness, and some are there to expose the community to the importance of STEM. In the last two years, these events have included: Mini Maker Faire at Barnes and Noble, Grand Rapids Collectible Toy and Comic Expo, Advance Manufacturing Expo, STEMosphere at the GR Public Museum, Man vs. Machine at Martin Luther King Elementary, and “La Tecnologia Es El Futuro” (Technology is the Future) Tech Fair at Cesar Chavez Elementary.
